Is today's education system preparing students to enter the workplace?
Judging by the shortage of critical skills and the high unemployment rate of recent graduates, it seems unlikely. Although college new hires often lack the tools and resources required to contribute to organizational performance, most organizations do very little to bridge the education gap. In fact, only 12% of companies in Aberdeen's 2014 HCM trends survey identified working with educational institutions as a top priority. HR leaders, in particular, have a unique opportunity to build stronger relationships with colleges and universities and provide guidance around the skills needed to drive success. This report, based on data collected in November and December, will highlight the ways HR can take a more proactive role in closing the education gap.
